Temps peaked at 90F again today, but nice and cool inside the Alliance coach with three A/C's! We had some rain this afternoon but it was short-lived, just enough to spike the humidity. I putzed around here while Doreen did the laundry a day earlier than planned. Outside there was one of the campground maintenance guys working in the site next door so I struck up a conversation with him while I was dumping tanks. The entire area we are in was not developed a year ago, hence all the newly paved sites. When the flooding occurred on April 7th this year that took out Buffalo Trace for several weeks, parts of the campground were knee deep. I was curious how that impacted the electrical system for instance, Of course they shut the power down, but they had to rebuild many of the power pedestals because of the water damage. To look at the place now you would never know it had been under water just a few months ago. It is a very nice campground, so well maintained and friendly staff.
We are done touring here. We saw a lot, tasted a lot and had a good time. Tomorrow we need to do all the normal day-before stuff like grocery shopping, fueling the truck, cleaning and stowing the barbecue grill, dumping tanks and stowing hoses. Wednesday we pack up and drive a short distance down to the Mammoth Cave area near Cave City KY for five nights. In addition to Mammoth Cave National Park, there are several other caves and attractions around there to see. Hopefully Liberty will get over this bug and be on the mend.
