This morning we shared hugs and even a few tears as we bid farewell to our friends and Ally's at Mancelona MI. At 0847 hrs we departed the Starlight Campground and RV Park, and headed east to I-75. As we continued north, we noticed severe tree damage from an obvious storm. Aside from that the scenery was beautiful the further north we went.
We continued north and eventually arrived at the south entrance to the famous Mackinac Bridge. We've been over this bridge before with our coach with no worries and no issues, but there seem to be quite a few that are really bothered by taking a trailer over the bridge!
I've even been under the bridge. In fact I've been over 100 ft down under the bridge scuba diving. There is a freighter called the SS Cedarville which is a steel freighter that sank in the Straits of Mackinac on May 7, 1965, after a collision with another vessel in dense fog. The ship was carrying limestone and lost seven lives in the incident. The wreck is located in the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Preserve, approximately 110 feet deep. We've dove that wreck twice.
Exiting the bridge after paying our $8.00 toll, we continuing west through the Upper Peninsula and through Munising. All the way up today we played Game Changer audio through our truck radio system while we listened to both Ankeny grandsons and their baseball games. Both Daniel and Calvin had a great weekend. Some where along the drive grandson Daniel hit a homerun into the outfield score board and there was a little screaming in the truck cab!! We can't be there but it is still fun to listen to the games!.

At 1400 hrs we arrived at the Rippling River Resort in Marquette MI. Mileage today was 255 miles. We checked in and set-up in the rain which is never fun, but we did not melt and our levelers worked!! Life is good!
This evening we headed down to the Resort Lodge and had a very tasty pizza and drinks there.
Other than lunch with the Myers tomorrow we have no firm plans yet. We have visited Marquette before.
