Our last day at Fort Custer Campground and I never took a picture! The photo above was taken from a drone and represents the over 800 Alliance owners that attended this year's rally. Here is a photo of previous years that shows how the rally has grown! We have attended all six rally's since the start of the company in 2020!
We started off the morning heading to the laundry. Doreen and Liberty had laundry duty today while I went to Menards for a couple items and Meijer for some rations to replenish the pantry and fridge. We did not need much and I was back to pick up Doreen, Liberty and our clean clothes.
Back at the campground we noticed Bob Mitchell's truck was gone so that was a good thing. We were hoping he was able to get it in to the local service department and they could work it into their schedule. He had a "regen" error on his display which usually indicates a problem with the vehicle's Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system, which is responsible for trapping and burning off soot from the exhaust. This process is essential for emissions control and can cause issues if it malfunctions.
While Doreen put the clothes away and hung some out to finish drying, I defrosted the freezer, something I have to do since we have a propane/electric RV fridge rather than a residential style which is frost-free. I also replaced the toilet seat with a soft-close type. Our original toilet had a soft close lid but this new one did not come with one. Fixed!
This evening we took Liberty on a walk and stopped by both the VanderHeiden's and the Mitchell's to give them one of Doreen's embroidered Alliance towels.
A sample of a couple different styles of towels Doreen has embroidered.
Tomorrow morning we will break camp here and move to the dump station to off-load our grey and black tanks, since these sites are electric only. Then we will hit the road northbound for our next destination, the Starlight Campground and RV Park in Mancelona MI. This is the location for the early Michigan Alliance RV Rally. There is another one in the fall at Traverse City but we won't be able to attend that one.
Next report from Mancelona MI!
