Quicker post tonight as it is very late. We had a great day starting with the arrival of our great friends Mike and Rachel Ellis this morning. We have known them for quite a few years and look forward to reconnecting each year during our RV travels. Mike and Rachel live in Arkansas and own an Alliance coach also. Mike served in the United States Air Force as did I, and Rachel was an Air Force spouse like Doreen. We have a lot in common and enjoy every minute with them.
This afternoon we hopped in our truck and headed for Bellaire MI and Mammoth Distilling Cocktail Lounge (pictured above). The whiskey was OK but neither of us left with a bottle... Back at the campground we made our way to site #113 which is our group meeting area. There everyone was requested to bring two cans of vegetables and they created a "Hobo Stew" All of the vegetable cans were opened and dumped into a large pot along with some ground beef and spices. This was cooked for a while and they created a very tasty "stew".
After dinner there was a drawing for items and Doreen "won" one of Mike Ellis's noodle board creations. He makes items like this with his laser engraver and they are magnificent!
After dinner we headed back to our coach and set up shop outside to watch the NBA Finals game where the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder faced off. Rachel is a fan of OKC.
. It was late and cold, and unfortunately OKC fell to Indiana in the last few seconds of the game 110-111. Tomorrow we intend to head to the water to search for Petosky stones and on the way back to the campground stop and sample the beer at the brewing company in Mammoth MI
