Today was our last day here at the Crooked Oaks RV Park in Conway SC. We have enjoyed this campground and our stay here near Myrtle Beach, but it is time to move on. As planned, in the morning we will pull chocks and head up to a campground called Shibby RV Living near Fountain Inn SC, which is southeast of Greenville NC. This was planned as just a stop-over for us on our way to two different stops in Georgia, but it will turn out to be much more! Our Alliance friends Pam & Phil Lau live not far from there. They used to own an Alliance coach but got out of the camping business a couple years ago. Also, our Alliance friends John & Lisa Miller live close to Pam & Phil, plus Alliance family George & Donna Walker from Florida are camping nearby also, so we all plan to converge on Pam & Phil's house for a mini-reunion and then head out to dinner Wednesday evening! It should be a great time!
Our plan from there included two different stops in Georgia to see Air Force and Alliance friends, then a night at Tupelo MS before moving on to see Alliance friends in Arkansas. From Arkansas we would have a stop over south of Kansas City before heading home. Today we got a call that our Arkansas Alliance friends have to leave home unexpectedly, so they won't be there when we would have been, so we are "adjusting fire" and are going to head home after our second stop in Georgia. We will camp one night east of Paducah KY and then one night near Hannibal MO before the final leg back to Iowa on 13 September. This has been a year of changes and adjustments for sure, but that will happen.
